Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Tyfonic Systems, the company that owns and operates Matrilyze ("Matrilyze," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with the Matrilyze platform. It applies to visitors of our own website, to the Operators who sign up to run a matrimony workspace on Matrilyze, and to Members who use an Operator's tenant site. Where an Operator's workspace collects information from its Members, the Operator is generally the data controller for that information and Tyfonic Systems acts as a data processor operating the underlying infrastructure; this policy describes what we do with information at the platform level, and the categories of data an Operator's workspace typically handles. For anything specific to how a particular Operator uses your data, contact that Operator directly.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: what you give us directly, what we collect automatically, and what we receive from third parties.

Information you provide. When you register as an Operator or a Member, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and a password (which we store as a salted hash, never in plain text). Members completing a matrimony profile may provide additional details such as date of birth, gender, marital status, religion, community, mother tongue, height, education, occupation, income, family details, horoscope information, photographs, and partner preferences. Some of these fields are sensitive personal data under Indian law, and we and the Operator you're registered with process them only for the matching, search, and eligibility features you choose to use.

Information collected automatically. When you use our website or an Operator's site, we automatically log your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring URLs, and the time and duration of your visit. We use this to keep the platform secure, diagnose problems, and understand how the product is used.

Information from third parties. If an Operator enables profile verification, we or the Operator may receive confirmation from a verification provider about the documents you submit. If you pay for a subscription, our payment processor shares transaction status and limited billing details with us — we never receive or store your full card number.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • create and maintain your account and matrimony profile;
  • operate matching, search, messaging, and eligibility features;
  • verify profiles where an Operator has turned on verification;
  • process payments, send billing receipts, and manage subscriptions;
  • send you service messages — such as verification emails, renewal reminders, and security alerts — related to your account;
  • investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service;
  • provide customer support and respond to the requests you send us;
  • understand how the platform is used so we can fix problems and improve it.

We do not use your matrimony profile information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

3. How We Share Information

We share information only where it is needed to run the platform:

  • With the Operator whose workspace you use, and, according to your privacy and visibility settings, with other Members you interact with on that workspace.
  • With service providers who help us run the platform — including hosting, email delivery, SMS/WhatsApp notifications, and payment processing — under contracts that limit them to using your information only to provide that service to us.
  • When the law requires it — to comply with a court order, government request, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tyfonic Systems, an Operator, our users, or the public.
  • If our business changes hands — for example in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify affected users as required by law.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share your matrimony profile with anyone outside the workspace you registered with except as described above.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure how the platform is used. Some cookies are essential to sign-in and checkout flows and cannot be turned off without breaking those features; others are optional and can be disabled from your browser settings. Disabling optional cookies will not affect your ability to use core features, but disabling essential ones may sign you out or prevent checkout from completing.

5. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account or your workspace's subscription is active, or as long as we need it to provide the service. If you close your account, or if the Operator's workspace is closed, we delete or irreversibly anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to keep it longer — for example, for tax, accounting, or legal record-keeping, or to resolve an ongoing dispute or investigation.

6. Data Security

We protect information with encryption in transit, hashed and salted credentials, role-based access controls, and tenant-level data isolation, so that one Operator's workspace cannot access another's data. Verification documents are stored separately from public profile data and are never displayed publicly. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information you transmit to us will never be accessed by an unauthorized party, but we work to reduce that risk and to detect and respond quickly if it happens.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You can review, update, or delete most of your profile information directly from your account settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, ask us to erase your data, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent you previously gave us. If you are in India, these rights are available to you under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. To exercise any of these rights, write to us at support@matrilyze.com or to the Grievance Officer named in Section 12; we will respond within the time required by applicable law.

If your data was collected by an Operator's workspace rather than by us directly, we will route your request to that Operator, since they control what's collected and how it's used on their site.

8. Children's Privacy

Matrilyze and every workspace built on it are intended for adults seeking marriage, consistent with the minimum marriageable age recognized under Indian law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created a profile or otherwise provided us with personal information, contact us at support@matrilyze.com and we will investigate and remove it.

9. International Data Transfers

Our infrastructure and the infrastructure of our service providers are primarily located in India. If you access the platform from outside India, your information may be transferred to and processed in India or other countries whose data protection laws may differ from those of your home jurisdiction. Where we transfer data internationally, we take reasonable steps to protect it consistent with this policy.

10. Third-Party Links

An Operator's workspace or our own site may link to third-party websites — for example a payment gateway or a social media page. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies before providing them with information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. We will update the date shown at the top of this page whenever we do, and for material changes we will provide additional notice — such as an email or an in-product banner — before the change takes effect.

12. Grievance Officer and Contact

In accordance with Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, we have appointed a Grievance Officer to address complaints regarding this policy or your personal information.
